Also known as false oat-grass, tall oat-grass, tall meadow?oat, onion couch, and tuber oat-grass, oat grass belongs to the family of Poaceae. Native to Europe and?western Asia, it is rich in Aconitic acid, apigenin, avenin, caffeic acid, calcium, carbohydrates, carotene, ?-carotene, chlorine, chlorophyll A and B, pyridoxine, riboflavin, selenium, silicon, and silicon oxide. It also contains -sitosterol, sodium, spermidine, spermine, sugars, sulphur, tartaric acid, thiamine, threonine, fibre, rhamnosides, and glucosides. Oat grass is also rich in amino acids, vitamins, and antioxidants.
